OUR
MISSION
At Apopka Veterinary Clinic, we believe that your pets are an important part of your family, bringing joy and happiness to the lives of their human family members. Our mission is to provide compassionate, quality veterinary care in a family medicine atmosphere that supports the human-animal bond enriching the lives of you and your pets.
To achieve this goal, we provide preventative medicine, early detection and advanced diagnostics, hospitalization, and soft tissue surgery for your pets in a knowledgeable, supportive environment.
We are focused on small animal medicine, providing care for dogs and cats. We also enjoy seeing our even smaller animals; rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, and other pocket pets. We strive to form a team with you to achieve the goal of providing the best possible care for your pets.
"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened."

Dr. Shellie Campbell, DVM
From a young age, I have felt a strong connection with animals and have recognized their ability to bring their human family members comfort and happiness. Growing up, I entertained pursuing careers in teaching or medicine, knowing that in some way I wanted to nurture people. It was during my undergraduate pre-med studies at the University of Florida that I decided to combine my love of animals with my desire to help people and pursue becoming a veterinarian.
I graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at UF in 1996.
I spent 4 years at a small animal practice in Atlanta before moving home to Florida where I have worked as an associate doctor at a Longwood veterinary practice for the last 14 years. I am very excited to start the next chapter of my career and have a practice of my own.
I love being a veterinarian. I strive to nurture the bond between people and their pets by aiding in the maintenance of their pet’s health and happiness. In protecting the health of pets, I hope that I am also improving the wellbeing of their human family members.
While I enjoy every aspect of veterinary medicine, my areas of special interest are soft tissue surgery and endocrinology. Veterinary medicine is a field that is constantly evolving and growing; I am excited to continue learning and evolving with the field.

I am thrilled to be a part of the Bear Lake Team! Dr. Campbell and I worked together several years ago where we discovered that we were a cohesive and collaborative team.
As an Ohio native, I attended Ohio Wesleyan University for undergrad, and graduated from veterinary school at Ohio State University in 2013. I immediately moved to a warmer climate- although I will always be a Buckeye at heart! Professional interests are neurology, preventative care, and pain management.
